Premeny a posuny – tak sa volala niekdajšia výstava Katky Vanekovej v bratislavskej K.Gallery, ktorú som mal možnosť kurátorsky pripraviť a s odstupom času som si uvedomil, že práve tento titul charakterizuje jej tvorbu. Jej rozmanitá tvorba je v neustálom vývoji a ani náhodou nechce zostať na mieste, ktoré už úspešne prezentovala v minulosti. Pre ňu by to bolo málo. Vo svojej túžbe po dokonalosti chce ísť ďalej, a je pritom jedno, či je to vo veľkom obraze vytvorenom kombinovanou technikou alebo pri malom šperku.
Katka sa posúva v čase ďalej a jej diela prinášajú premeny. Aj v týchto premenách sa však dajú nájsť pevné výtvarné konštanty, ktoré jej svieži rukopis držia v pevných umeleckých brehoch.
Veľmi výrazná je v jej dielach prítomnosť estetickej pôsobnosti a účelovosti predmetu. Inými slovami, Katke nestačí, aby bol predmet len krásny, chce, aby tá krása slúžila ľuďom.
A tú krásu možno nájsť v sklenených a keramických objektoch, kresbách, obrazoch vytvorených kombinovanou technikou, ale aj umeleckých šperkoch. Už Oscar Wilde povedal, že „krása má toľko významov, koľko má človek nálad. Je symbolom symbolov“. Zostáva len dodať, že u Katky má tento symbol toľko odtieňov, koľko má ľudská duša svojich zákutí.
Iným leitmotívom jej diel je fenomén ľudskej sexuality. Raz ako kontúra príťažlivého ženského tela, inokedy ako vtipná metafora - napríklad v objektoch On a Ona. Odmieta falošné tabu zahalené do našich predsudkov a naplno dáva vyznieť svojim vnútorným túžbam.

Metamorphosis and shifts – that was the name of a past exhibition of Katarína Vaneková in K.Gallery in Bratislava which I, as its curator, could lead. After certain time lapsed, I realized that it was just that name that is characterizing her creation. Her production is diverse and in continuous development, and she does not want to stay in the place which she had already presented successfully in the past. That would be too little for her by far. In her desire to reach perfection, she needs to go on; and it does not matter whether it's a large picture that uses combined techniques, or a minute piece of jewellery.
Katarína moves forward with time and her pieces present fluxion. Also in these permutations fixed art constants that keep her fresh autograph within steady banks of art can be found.
Presence of an aesthetic function and purposefulness of the object are very distinct in her pieces. In other words, it's not enough for her if the object is only beautiful; she wants that beauty to serve to people.
That beauty can be found in glass as well as ceramic works, drawings, paintings, and in art jewellery. Oscar Wilde has already said once that "Beauty has as many meanings as man has moods. Beauty is the symbol of symbols". It remains to be said that this symbol in Katarína's work has as many shades as the human soul has nooks.
Another leitmotiv of her works is the phenomena of human sexuality. Once as a contour of an attractive feminine body, another time as a witty metaphor – for example in her objects He and She. She rejects false taboos, veiled in our prejudices, and she lets fully resonate her own inner desires.

Hotel Empire Trnava - Paralely života
Áno, páči sa mi tvorba Kataríny Vanekovej. Mám rada začiatok, zrod s pocitom konca v nedohľadne. Jadrom nekonečných možností. Všetko toto na výstave v hoteli Empire **** Trnava autorka prezentovala. Dokonca v dielach i zrkadle s názvom Spermia sú stopy archetypu. Spojenie týchto prvkov vytvára vesmír. Vesmír a umenie je krásna kombinácia.

Yes, I like the work of Katarína Vaneková. I like the beginning, the birth with a feeling of an end somewhere far away. The core of unending options. All this was presented at the show in Hotel Empire **** in Trnava by the author. There are hints of archetypes in her works and in her mirror "Sperm". Fusion of these elements creates the universe. The universe and the art is a beautiful combination.

Malá galéria SPP Batislava - Druhá
Autorka ukončila štúdium na VŠVU v Ateliéri reštaurovanie polychrómovanej plastiky v roku 2004. Už počas štúdia sa začala zaujímať aj o iné tvorivé presahy, než len o samotné reštaurovanie. Jej túžba, vnútorná potreba a presvedčenie ju priviedli do Ateliéru skla, kde absolvovala jeden semester štúdia a zoznámila sa s týmto materiálom, v ktorom začala uvažovať a realizovať svoje prvé idey. Jej prvé práce sa dotýkali funkčných objektov, ako je stôl, barový pult, svietidlo, a iné. Okrem skla sa dostáva do kontaktu aj s hlinou a vznikajú jej prvé keramické objekty.
Po skončení školy sa vydáva na cestu vlastnej tvorby. Témou a námetom autorkinej tvorby je ľudská figúra – žena, o ktorej vypovedá subjektívnym spôsobom. Ženskú figúru stvárňuje ako odhodlanú, trpiacu, vzrušujúcu a erotizujúco-dráždivú. Ženu kreslí a maľuje ako torzo. Dáva ju do súvisu so spermiami, ako možnosťou nového života, ale aj ľudskej sexuality. Jej žena býva konfrontovaná s časom – hodinami. Čas je pre autorku dôležitou veličinou. Svoj čas napĺňa naliehavými otázkami a odpoveďami.
Ďalšou témou je bižutéria a šperk, keramický a sklenený. Sú to materiálové a myšlienkové vzťahy vypovedané v malom. Autorka ide nekompromisne svojou cestou. Je vytrvalá a zanietená pre vlastnú výtvarnú výpoveď v oblasti interiérových solitérov, kresby, maľby, keramiky, skleneného objektu a šperku.

The author finished her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Restoration of Polychromed Wooden Sculptures, in 2004. Beside restoration, she has started to show her interest in other creative overlaps already during her studies. Her aspiration, inner need and belief led her steps to the Studio of Glass where she studied for one term and familiarized herself with this material. She began to think within its dimensi
ons and to materialize her first ideas. Her first works were presented by functional objects, such as a table, a bar, a light, and others. Apart from glass, she established a contact with clay and so, her first ceramics appear.
After she finished her studies, she has set out for a journey of her own production. The theme of the author's production is a human figure – a woman. She talks about it in a sub jective way.
She portrays the female figure as determined, suffering, exciting and erotically tantalizing. She draws and paints the woman as a torso. There is established a relation with seed, as a potential of a new life, but also of human sexuality. Her woman is usually confronted with time – a clock. Time is an important variable for the author. Her time is filled in with pressing questions and answers.
Jewellery, fine ceramics and glass, makes up another theme. These speak of material and thought relations expressed in miniatures. The author pursues her own path uncompromisingly. She is persistent and passionate for her own artistic statement in the area of furniture solitaires, drawing, painting, ceramics, glass and jewellery. She lives and creates in Bratislava.

„...no a teraz máte približne dve hodiny a 59 minút času... Ale ešte by som chcel Kačene zaželať veľa pracovných úspechov, veľa výdrže a ešte raz výdrže, lebo tú bude potrebovať na ťažkej profesionálnej ceste výtvarníka na voľnej nohe. Čiže to bude fakt - ako sa slangovo hovorí - „o hubu“. Ale začiatok už bol a teraz netreba prestať - treba pokračovať ďalej. Neviem, či je na mieste hovoriť o spaní na vavrínoch, lebo ešte žiadne moc neboli, ale každopádne, až keď ich bude veľmi veľa, vtedy treba zaspať. Zatiaľ nie, teraz treba „makať“...“

"...well, now you have some two hours and 59 minutes of time... But I would like to wish Kate many professional successes, persistence and more persistence, because she will need it on the hard professional road of a freelance artist. Well, it's going to be – as is usually said - tight. But the beginning has already been there; and now you can't stop – you need to go on. I don't know whether this is the place to speak about sleeping on the laurels, as there haven't been any laurels yet, but anyway, when there are really lots and lots of them, then it will be the time to sleep. Not yet, toil, that's what you have to do now..."

„...Chcela by som túto výstavu venovať mojej mame, ktorá sa tejto výstavy nedožila, no veľmi sa na ňu tešila. Veľmi ťažko sa mi hovorí, pretože každé toto dielo je robené s nábojom, ktorý som musela prekonať po mnohých tragických udalostiach, pretože medzi nimi nebola len moja mama. Táto výstava sa volá Transkripcia a je to vlastne prepis toho, čo som prežívala. Prepis vlnenia, ktoré niekde začína a niekde končí. Raz sme hore, raz sme dole. Takisto je to so zárodkom, ktorý zaniká hneď, ako vznikne. Aj preto si myslím, že viac filozofických úvah a ani ďalších slov netreba. Takže ďakujem, že ste všetci prišli a veľmi som poctená vašou návštevou. Ďakujem.“

"...I would like to dedicate this exhibition to my mother who did not live long enough to see it, but was looking forward to it very much. It's hard to speak about it, because each of my works was done with a charge, coming from many tragical events I had to overcome and because what happened to my mum was not the only thing. This show is named Transcription and it's actually a transcription of those things I experienced. Transcription of waving that somewhere starts and somewhere ends. Once we are up, the other time down. It's the same with the germ. It perishes as soon as it comes to life. That is why I think that more philosophical contemplations and more words are not needed. So, let me thank you all for coming. I am honoured. Thank you."
